Slept So Long

Chapter 2

A/N: SORRY!! Yes I know I said everyday, but my foot was killing me and all I did on Sunday was play FFX-2, yah I got the good ending, hehehe. And Monday was my mom's b-day.  I'm really going to try! But I also want to finish 'Overprotected' by X-Mas.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything.... Not even the computer I'm using... (don't ask) BTW if you haven't realized by now, this does contain spoilers, if takes place after X-2!! (der!)

Rikku walked up onto the deck, holding pillows and a bunch of blankets.  She was nervous, it was very dark outside and she really didn't want to fall in front of Gippal.

"Here, lemme help you," Gippal said as he turned away from the dark sky of Luca to help Rikku.

Rikku gladly handed over the sleeping gear, and helped him to set up a camp.  She wasn't in her normal clothes she had changed into her green shorts, and had on a basic white t-shirt.

Gippal took off his shoulder armor, his gloves, and then kicked off his boots.  "Whoa, so you do know how to cover up!" Gippal laughed as he made fun of Rikku.

"Big meanie!" Rikku replied as she hit him with a pillow.

"Stop your whining!" Gippal complained as he sat down in the messed of pillows and blankets.

Rikku sat down next to him, and leaned on his chest.  "Am I really that bad?"

Gippal laughed, "You wanna know the truth?!"

"No," Rikku whispered.

The two sat there looking up into the stars, and the flashing lights coming from Luca.  The Celsius proved to be a wonderful place to watch the stars. Gippal wrapped an arm around Rikku's waist and relaxed.

"Gippal, what is that star's name?" Rikku asked turning to him slightly.

"How the hell am I supposed to know?" Gippal laughed, frankly he didn't give a rat ass about the stars.

"GIPPAL! Haven't you ever watched a romantic movie, and the two people look at the starts and talk about them?" Rikku turned around and asked him.

"Nope. Do you know which star is which?" Gippal asked turning the tables on her.

"No, but.. HEY!" Rikku realized that he had tricked her and she punched him in the shoulder.

"Hey!" he said rubbing his shoulder, "Aren't we quiet the abusive one?"

Rikku sat there and pretend to pout.  But she was thinking, thinking about what to say to him.  She didn't want this time to be like last time, she still wanted him to be there when she awoke.

"Rikku?" Gippal asked, "What are you thinking about?"

"Us," she replied faintly.

"Us? There's an us?" Gippal joked, but then realized that she was being serious, "Eh, what's up?"

"I don't want this time to be like last time," Rikku whispered.

"Yah me neither. I think... we should... take things nice and slow," Gippal said quietly.

Rikku turned to face him and laughed, "Nice and slow?!" she giggled.

"You have any ideas?" Gippal said while tormenting her.

Rikku fell silent, "Yah I thought so," he added cockily.

Rikku grabbed a blanket and laid down on a pillow, and put her back to Gippal. Gippal shook his head at the sight of her, pouting like a baby. He grabbed another blanket and covered her again, he sunk down into the 'bed' and laid down to face her. Rikku was curled up in a ball, but she still managed to move her body towards his.  Gippal did nothing but grin and he wrapped his arms around her, and felt his knees hit the back of her legs.

The morning sun pierced through the window and hit Yuna right in the eye.  It awoke her with a burn. Yuna turned to find her self, alone.  She then popped out of bed quickly. 'It couldn't have been a dream?' Yuna cringed, this was too much. The fayth had to stop playing games with her mind.


Suddenly the bathroom door opened and he appeared.  Yuna let out a deep breath and tried to relax. 

Tidus walked barefoot over to her while rubbing his hair with a towel. He stopped suddenly, Yuna looked ghostly pale.

"You okay?" he asked taking a seat next to her.

Yuna nodded her head, "You weren't there and..."

Tidus hushed her, he understood. She was afraid he was only a dream, once again.

"Come on! Lulu and Wakka are here, and they brought food!" he said excited.

"Really?!" Yuna said excited.

He nodded, "How else do you think my clothes got cleaned? Come on, get dressed, I'm starving, I haven't eaten in two years!"

Yuna stopped smiling, "That's not funny."

Tidus realized it, it wasn't funny to her.  'Oh boy,' he thought, Yuna was going to be like this for a while.  She had every reason to, if the fayth stopped dreaming, he'd disappear again.  It was going to be a while before she would stop being so paranoid.

Yuna walked into the bathroom, and then into the shower, with out saying a word to him. 'Oh geeze, I think she's pissed,' he concluded.

Tidus heard the door from downstairs open and he walked down the stairs hoping it was Lulu with food. To his surprise it was, Paine. He didn't really ever get the chance to talk with her. But he smelled something, doughnuts!

"Mind if I have one?" he asked peaking into the bag.

"Go ahead," Paine replied as she sat down on one of the table stools.

Tidus scarfed down 4 doughnuts faster than Lulu could take out a Red Element.

"Hungry?" Paine asked wondering how Yuna could love this pig.

He nodded silently as he went for number 5.

"So some one who just got sent back from the farplane to be with the one he loves, you don't seem to thrilled," Paine said as she sipped on some coffee.

"Yuna's pissed at me," wow, that sounded weird to say, Yuna pissed? That's a first.

"Already? What did you do?" Paine asked wondering, Yuna had waited for this moment forever, and now she was pissed.

"I made a joke, about not eating in two years and she just got upset," Tidus added as he grabbed the coffee that clearly had 'Wakka' written on it. It was obviously Wakka's.

"Well, she's been through a lot, with Shuyin playing with her emotions and all," Paine added as she watched him chug the coffee.

"Shuyin?" he asked with a hint of jealousy.

"Yes, he was the man in all the spheres that we believed contained you," Paine went on, "We discovered that Shuyin thought Yuna was his lover Lenne, and Yuna thought Shuyin was you.  But in the end, Shuyin turned out to be a deadly unsent. In the end we had to take him out. It hurt Yuna so much, because he looked like you."

"Wow, so this whole mission to find me turned out to be taking out Shuyin," Tidus tried to comprehend everything, but there was still a lot he had to ask Yuna about, "She told me about the adventure, and Vegnagun, but she never told me about Shuyin and Lenne."

Paine heard the shower turn off, "Maybe I shouldn't have said anything then."

Just then Wakka and Rikku came in followed by Lulu, who was holding Vidina.  Wakka ran up to Tidus and put him in a headlock.

"Hey! Hey!" Tidus yelled as he tried to push Wakka off of him.

Lulu handed Rikku little Vidina and Rikku walked over to Tidus.  "Hey you wanna see him?!" Rikku asked happily as she practically placed Vidina in his face.

"He's cute, ya?" Wakka asked proudly.

"Good thing he doesn't look like you!" Tidus replied, he couldn't picture Wakka and Lulu fused into one body, their styles were just way to different.

Everyone laughed, and Yuna walked down the cabin stairs and sat next to Tidus and pulled a bagel out of the bag. Tidus was afraid to even look at her.

"Hey," Wakka said slowly, "Who drank my coffee, ya?"

Paine cleared her throat and rubbed her nose, with her finger pointing towards Tidus.

"I'll let it slide this time," Wakka said giving Tidus a dirty look.

They finished eating their breakfast and then Shrina came in and told them that Baralai was on the CommSphere, and need to talk to the Gullwings, preferably, YRP.

LeBlanc walked around the Youth League headquarters with disgust.  How could Noojie stand this dirty place? She walked up onto the balcony where Nooj stood, looking over at the rising sun.

"LeBlanc? What are you doing here?" Nooj asked curiously as he turned around for a moment to face her.

"I wanted to see you Noojie!" she replied as she walked over to the railing, next to where he stood.

"You miss me already, I just saw you last night at Luca," Nooj exclaimed.

"You know, I could spend forever with you, love" LeBlanc said whole heartedly as she turned to him.

"LeBlanc," Nooj began, "I want to thank you, for being there for me.  After everything I did, you stood by my side."

"No need for thanks Noojie, just know that you feel that way is enough," LeBlanc said as she felt her heart melt.

Nooj stood there as he looked into her eyes. Sure LeBlanc is annoying, bitchy, conceded, self-centered, and a whiner, but yet he still cared about her. He had to give it to her, she was pretty hot, and the way she cared for him, it was unbreakable.

"Noojie, I love you so much," LeBlanc couldn't stand his silence and she leaned into him.

Nooj wrapped his arm around her shoulder.  LeBlanc shuddered, he had never really touched her, for they never truly dated.

"LeBlanc," Nooj's voice got low, "We should be married."

LeBlanc's heart stopped, or at least she swore it stopped. Married, her married. HER MARRIED TO NOOJ!!!

"YES YES YES!" LeBlanc shouted as she jumped for joy, and then hit the ground.

Nooj rushed to her side, and picked her head up. Guess she was a bit too excited...

"How have you been?" Baralai's voice rang through the CommSphere.

"Good," Yuna replied.

"Well, I'll get straight to the point, I'd like to meet in Bevelle, to discuss something's of matter," he replied.

"Sure, anything for Spira," Yuna replied.

"How does 1p.m. look?" Baralai asked.

"We're free!" Rikku replied happily.

"See you then," Baralai replied as he turned his CommSphere off.

Paine and Yuna turned to Rikku. Oh, boy she was going to get it today.

"So Rikku," Yuna said as she paced the room.

"Where is Gippal?" Paine said trying to keep a straight face.

Rikku looked at them and shook her head, "Said something about a meeting."

"How much did he pay you?" Paine asked.

"For what?!" Rikku asked, what did he have to pay her for.

"For last night," Paine laughed, "I'm sure Luca's fireworks weren't the only ones going off last night!"

Yuna started to laugh, Paine had cracked a joke, on Rikku! Poor Rikku, they would torture her until the day they died.

Rikku put her hands on her hips and informed them, "Were going to take things nice and slow!"

"So that's a new position?" Paine had done it again, Yuna couldn't stand up straight, she almost peed her pants.

"ARGH!" Rikku's face turned bright red and she stormed out off the room, and Paine followed her. 

"I'm on a roll, I cant stop now," Paine said as she left.

Yuna recomposed herself, and Tidus entered the bridge.

"Yuna?" he asked as he walked down the stairs and towards the chair that Yuna was sitting in.

"I'm sorry," Yuna said before Tidus could get another word out of his mouth, "I guess I'm just paranoid and I can't take jokes about you not being here."

Tidus leaned over the chair and placed his hands on her shoulders. "It's all in the past, none of that matters anymore, it's the future now.  Our story together."

Yuna nodded in agreement. "Come on, let's go!" she replied giggly as she stood up.

Next time.... Nooj and LeBlanc have an announcement... Baralai proves to everyone that he is sane... And the Besaid Aurochs take on Luca Goers...
