    Drakengard 3

Crimson blood, the dawn, and time tells its tale---One third time!!

The dimmest hope come true. Drakengard 3 has been announced!

It's been 6-7 years since the last Drakengard for PS2, which wrapped up the story nicely, but now a third title has finally been announced, after people thought it was hopeless to wish for it.

    Images and info

Sadly, I don't think there will be any Caim this time around, with good reason, but if they DO decide to include him, which is a sinful yet unavoidable wish, it had better make full sense. I don't really know where the story is going this time, seeing how Drakengard 2 ended, but there's still room for new a completely new story, and I suppose Nowe and Manah still could be present at this point.
Also, One looks a lot like Manah. Come to think of it, Zero reminds me of Nowe as a savior... Could the twin sisters be daughters of Nowe and Manah? O_O

And as for Nier, I imagine the praise for this title helped boost the developers to go and make Drakengard 3 after so long. As for tie-ins, who knows, but I doubt there will be a direct impact on the Nier story or vice versa, as there was with Drakengard and Nier. Rather, I think D3 will related only to D1 and/or D2, if either of them.

But speaking of Nier and the creators, even better news!!:

Square Enix brought together team members from the Drakengard series and Nier to make Drakengard 3. The PlayStation 3 sequel has Taro Yoko, the director on Nier and Drakengard, as the director and scenario creator for Drakengard 3.

Kimihiko Fujisaka (Drakengard, The Last Story) is the character designer, Keiichi Okabe is working on the music, and Drakengad producer Takamasa Shiba is the producer of Drakengard 3.
I felt like I died and went to heaven. This has happened a lot lately. Square Enix are making my dreams come true a lot these days o_o.

*gasp and awe*. Drakengard 1 and 2 had good CG animation for its time on the PS2, but my image of Drakengard still lies in the PS2 animation, just like it was the case with the KHIII trailer. Or in other words, this will take some adjusting too, even though it's god damn fantastic. One thing is screens, but seeing it like this, wow...

I don't get anything of what they are saying in the trailer, lol... I can't wait to see the movies in the game, like the intro. As in older Squaresoft games, CG scenes are something to look forward to. And so much blood, so much blood... In that CG scene, I don't think I ever saw as epic a blood splash as that, when it looks as good as it does on top of it, wow. Powerful.

I think what'll be the hardest to adjust to however is the look of combat now. It looks sort of inspired by the NieR direction. It doesn't look like there are endless hordes and formations of enemies the same way there used to be. Now instead it looks like the enemies and their AI might have been beefed up to offer more one-on-one fighting and less massacre. I do think it looks great, but I also keep in mind it's a Drakengard game and I really don't hope they twist the defining aspects of this game to fit in with the new generation (or even the NieR style, as much as I also love that). I do think the trailer makes it a little unclear how much like the other Drakengard games it is though. Looking forward to seeing more.

The characters: Here they really do seem to take the characters to a new kind of territory. Some of them look more childish and where the fuck is the obscurity? Zero and One has it, but some of these other new characters... Even though they look cool, I would never have guessed them to be part of a Drakengard game. I hope they have their obscure backgrounds and secrets though, which can redeem them!

The music playing is so obviously Okabe, lol. Very NieR-like. I hope he'll have insight into the obscurity and emotional chaos of Drakengard the way he had with the enigmatic and tragic emotion in NieR. I can sense some of it in this track, but I need more to get the feeling of how it works with the game. Right now it sounds a lot like it belongs in a NieR ending xD.

And now the red eyes again? just like lady Manerrrh. More for the plot theory!.. Except it might have more to do with The Watchers than Manah. Either way, GIMME MOAR! <3<3
