Yoichi Wada resigns
The President of Square Enix is resigning from his position.

It really sounds bad, when you read about SE's situation. I really hope this new move works out for them in the end. I'd really have thought the extreme success of Eidos lately to contribute to better circumstances.
But anyway, Wada has been on ship for a decade now, and he's basically the head of the whole Square Enix era (up to now), after it changed from Squaresoft.
Some might consider it a good call to dispose of him due to all the trouble SE has experienced ever since that merger, but really, they've still been going strong and they have had huge games that delivered.
With the new President (Yosuke Matsuda), I truly am uncertain of which direction SE will be heading. I'm very interested to see what changes will come, but will they be for the better or for the worse? I don't want SE to completely change their best titles, even if the lack of change has been one of their problems over their years. Old is good. I'd rather NOT get something new over getting something that I don't like, lol... Buuuuut I recon it'd take a lot for me to not like it anyway :P
So yeah, congrats to Matsuda, and here's to hoping we will be lead into a new era that will be worthwhile, or if he steers us on the same path as Wada, peace with that as well.
And goodbye Wada. You will be missed ._. ...
First Sakaguchi, now Wada >_>.

Sakaguchi was an awesome developer, Wada isn't on his level.
Now maybe we'll get Versus and KHIII =P

Yeah, Sakaguchi was, definitely, but even for the greatest, one fatal mistake can destroy everything, as it was the case with The Spirits Within. I still love that movie, but most of the world didn't agree, lol.
Whether it was intentional or not, he kinda bailed out of the issues it brought to start up Mistwalker. A decision that definitely benefited him! But Wada was there to take his place and at the very least keep the company going. One can hate Wada all they want, but in the end, SOMEONE has to bear the responsibility of what happens and you can't always predict the outcome with the audience.
Like the file reports, the problem with Wada's resigning lies in SE not benefiting on huge console titles released in the west. It could be some of the most praised titles, easily, that just happened to not be bought by as many people as certain other games.
I definitely think Wada fought for this company, and he allowed a lot of variety for newer games as well as owning up to mistakes and ill facts about the company or its titles, that he even spoke of publicly.
But let's not compare, please... Comparing just about anyone to Sakaguchi is unfair, lol xD.
