The Complete Compilation of the Spira’s History(and a little story) from FFX and X-2

[Hikoto]

****NOTE: Before any of you go on reading in this thread, please note that it is FULL OF SPOILERS. Do not come crying to me if you didn’t want to know them as yet(Whatever your reason might be).****

Okay, so I got a bit bored, got a bit crazy over FFX and X-2 again, so I decided to do this for the benefit of everyone. ^_^

All the information below is adapted from the Final Fantasy X Battle Ultimania and Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission Ultimania.

****As both the books above are in Japanese, I used every bit of what I’ve learnt to try to decipher it(yes like a code, stop laughing!), also coupling with my knowledge of both the games.

I DO NOT know FFX2 very well as I played the game in Japanese, so you might find the FFX2 a bit fuzzy or even wrong. If so, please correct it.****

The present time that I’ll be using as a guide is during the time when FFX took place.

Welcome to Spira.

Around 3000 years ago

- Vast improvements were made in the magic civilization.
- Machina was invented.
- The use of machina became common through the whole of Spira.

"Long time ago, there were a lot of cities in Spira. Big cities with machina - machines to run them."

-Wakka, FFX.

- Machina technology reached its peak.

Around 1000 years ago

- War broke out between Zanarkand and Bevelle, this is later known as The Machina War.

- Shuyin, a blitzball player from Zanarkand, infiltrated Bevelle in an attempt to utilize their secret weapon, Vegnagun against them. However, he was stopped by his lover, Lenne. Lenne was killed by the Bevelle guards in the process.

- Yu Yevon, then ruler of Zanarkand, turned all the citizens of Zanarkand into fayths. And using this tremendous amount of power, he summoned Sin. From within, Yevon summoned the fayths to dream…a dream of Zanarkand.(This Zanarkand is the one Jecht and Tidus were from.)

- Sin destroyed all the Machina cities.

"People played all day and let the machine do the work. And then, well, take a look, Sin came, and destroyed the Machina cities. And Zanarkand along with them. Yeah, that was about a thousand years ago, just like you said."

- Lady Yunalesca, daughter of Yu Yevon, defeated Sin with the help of her husband, Lord Zaon, and thus started the tradition of the ‘Final Summoning’.

- The Yevon religion established its first temple in Bevelle and started taking control over the mentality of the people in Spira.

About 800 years ago

- Mi’hen formed the Crimson Blades which later came to be known as the Crusaders.
- Training took place in the Calm Lands, and a man named Trema was put in charge.

About 700 years ago

- Omega, a monk of Yevon, rebelled against the temple and was exiled.

About 500 years ago

- Mi;hen Highroad was destroyed by Sin, the Newroad was constructed.

About 400 years ago


- Summoner Gandof defeated Sin and became the first high summoner in Spira history.

- Sin was reborn.

About 230 years ago

- Summoner cum Blitzball player, Lord Orhaland defeated Sin and became a high summoner.

- Sin was reborn.

About 100 years ago

- Summoner Yonkun defeated Sin and became a high summoner.

- Sin was reborn.

50 years ago

- Mika was made Grand Maester of Yevon.

25 years ago

- Jyscal Guado became Chief of the Fuados and spreaded Yevon’s teachings among them.

About 20 years ago

- Internal conflict occurred between the Guados, and Jyscal banished his wife and son to prevent the dissolution of the Guados.

10 years ago

- Jecht came from the dream Zanarkand to Spira.
- Braska started his pilgrimage with Auron and Jecht as his trusted guardians.
- Lord Braska defeated Sin and became a high summoner.

9 years ago

- Jyscal Guado and Kelk Ronso, chief of their respective races, became Maesters of Yevon. This was part of Mika’s policy to promote harmony among the different races of Spira.

3 years ago

- Wen Kinoc became a Maester of Yevon.

1 year ago

- The Crusaders fought against Sin at Djose Beach. Wakka’s brother, Chappu died in this operation.

- Jyscal Guado died and his son, Seymour Guado, took over his position as Guado Chief, as well as Maester of Yevon.

The Present(FFX)

- The story of FFX begins.

- The Final Crimson Squad Selection Exercise took place in the Den of Woe. Nooj, Gippal, Baralai and Paine are the only ones who made it out alive.

- Tidus and Co. brought an end to the false tradition of the Final Summoning and brought about the eternal calm.

- The fayths stopped dreaming and thus brought an end to the dream Zanarkand. Tidus faded into non-existent as a result.

*****The Eternal Calm*****

- The Crusaders were no more, as the their objective was no longer there.

- Brother and DaChi* discovers the airship, Celsius.(*Currently, I have NO idea who DaChi is, I think it might be Buddy or something. That is the direct translation of the Katakana in the text. =/)

- (***There is a statement here about Trema, something about him closing down the training at the Calm Lands at doing something in the name of Yevon.[Which doesn’t sound like anything good lol.] Anyhow, I couldn’t really figure this part out.****)

Half year later

- Sphere Hunters started surfacing throughout Spira.
- Wakka and Lulu gets married.

- Trema started New Yevon and began collecting the past spheres of Spira.

1 year later

- Nooj starts the Youth Alliance.

- Trema disappeared into the depths of Bevelle, all spheres collected before his disappearance also went missing.

- Kimahri is made Chief of the Ronso Tribe.

- Youth Alliance starts taking control over the port of Killika.

- New Yevon elects a new leader.(I can’t quite make out who the new leader is. Sorry. =X)

- Gippal starts the Machina Faction.

- Brother forms the sphere hunting group—Gullwings.

2 years later

- Kimahri finds a interesting sphere off Mt. Gadgazet. Rikku helps delivers the sphere to Yuna.

- Yuna leaves Besaid to search for ‘him’.

- Yuna joins the Gullwings.

- Baralai becomes the praetor of New Yevon, after the former leader steps down.(I
think….=X)

"The previous leader has retired and left with his son. They both tried to have power to themselves, and they were driven back. We younger people are taing care of this organization."

-Baralai, FFX2.

2 years and 1 month later

- The story of FFX2 takes place.

- After the FFX2 saga, Yuna, Rikku and Paine leaves the Gullwings.

2 years and 3 months later(This is Last Mission)

- Yuna, Rikku and Paine each received an a anonymous letter which led to their meeting at the Luca Stadium.

- All 3 proceed to the Yadonaki Tower.

Sadly, it ends here. The book gave no hints or such as to what happened in the Yadonki Tower, nor its ending. Also, sadly I haven’t played it yet though I jolly well could. Anyhow, I wouldn’t understand much of it as yet.

Also, the part about Trema is very fuzzy to me. I am not sure if it’s correct. If anyone knows the real, real sotry behind it, please correct me [>.<] *cough*Zera*cough*

I have to credit most of the pictures to The Legendary Guardian. The 2 digital camish one(Yonkun and Orhaland) was taken by me from my Ultimania as I’m such a lazy ass to scan them lmao >.> Actually I didn’t wand to bend the book as well, so sue me. =P

Hikoto, that is a hell of a good job!! ...

It is really sintetized but it focuses on the important points and pics are great too (some I had never seen LOL)


...it actually gave me the idea of making the history, just like this, of another ff besides ffx =P maybe ff8 or ff7 (ff8 most likely since I would have trouble with ff7s english nouns)... really I think these ff histories really add to the forum...

call me copycat and sue me =P

I really do think this is exellent work... but of all FF's I think this would be the eassiest one to tell the story from... NOT THAT I CAN... but you know what I meen, right...

Mirage, if your doing the FFVIII then I say "get it started" hehe... That will take some time... And don't even think of doing the FFVII since that's probably the hardest and most confusing story to tell...

Anyways... How did you get that book Hikoto.. I want it too, hehe

Mirage, if your doing the FFVIII then I say "get it started" hehe... That will take some time... And don't even think of doing the FFVII since that's probably the hardest and most confusing story to tell...

Anyways... How did you get that book Hikoto.. I want it too, hehe

Ive done it yeaterday during the night, so I will post it around today. I was expecting Hikoto's PM before posting...
And when you say ff7's story is confuse that just makes me wanna do it even more :D... but I probably won't because I dont know some names in english...

About the book: I think it's in japanese so I don't think you could read it =\
PS.: but I did it slightly different. Hikoto made it really the story of Spira, the world where ffx is in, I did the story of ff8...
