* Leo has been confirmed to be a female by the director. (Still up to debate.) Leo's martial art style is similar to Akira's in VF but with her(his?) own original style added. Leo is also similar to Paul (Paul's daughter??) and was made to attract people who are new to the franchise.
* There will be more than two new characters. I think I saw one of them in the promotional trailer and it appears to be another girl who has a fighting style that resembles Lion from Virtua Fighter (some of us here at QJ think it's just Asuka in a different costume). Old characters will obviously receive new moves and new motions to make the game feel fresh.
* Stages will be very different from previous Tekken and will have lots of strategic usage and customization is going to be a huge part of the game.
* The game is only 15% done at the moment.

I'm pretty hyped, even though the trailer doesn't show much. So far it looks like a prettier version of T5:DR. Still looks good, regardless.
Could Bryan's shotgun be part of one of his moves? That would be pretty cool, maybe something like a Fatality. If he's in T6, could that mean Yoshimitsu really did die? And just what the hell is Leo exactly - male or female?

The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 came to a close. The final battle was against the sponsor of the tournament, Jinpachi Mishima, from which Jin Kazama came away the victor.

Becoming the president of the Mishima Zaibatsu, Jin immediately began various programs within the company and converted the Tekkenshu into a spy project. People began to suspect a darkness in Jin, leading to increased tension, infighting and finally a full-scale war. The whole world was drawn in, and when the nations began losing power, the Zaibatsu, able to gain a profit from the potential of war, announced its independence and declared war on the entire world.

Initially the Mishima Zaibatsu was a formidable enemy, but then G Corporation rose to the position of the main opposition to the Zaibatsu. The world saw the rival company as the savior, and endorsed them completely in their drive to suppress the Zaibatsu. Eventually, G-Corporation announced that the president of the Mishima Zaibatsu was the root cause of the war and promises an immense amount of money to anyone who can capture Jin Kazama alive.

But almost as if anticipating this move, the Mishima Zaibatsu announced the opening of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. People may enter to gain fame, money and (unintelligible). In the midst of this chaos, the curtains rise on the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6.

The April Fool's Joke at TZ was actually about Zafina's and Leo's profiles. So Jin in fact won T5....WOW. I still can't picture him as the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu.

I wasn't really amped when I first saw trailer. But regardless, I'm definitely getting it.




Here's an English translation from the interview with T6's director Katsuhiro, seen on Tekken.Net(the cell phone site)

"We wish to implement the unique gaming elements from previous Tekken games and the most recent two (Tekken 5 & Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection) into Tekken's next installment, Tekken 6.

Tekken 6 will be displayed in 16:9 windscreen format in order to show gamers and patrons more of what is happening in the game, its characters, backgrounds and more, making it feel/look more real.

The number of characters in Tekken 6 will be the largest yet; the two characters already announced are not the only new characters-please be patient until our next announcement.

Older character will receive new attacks/animation changes in order to make attacks and movements feel more real.

Customization will be freer than before. Previously, gamers were limited to set patterns, and customization options, but this time around we would like gamers to come up with their own look, nearly to the point of making a character unrecognizable or like a new character all together. Some features may only work while in play... [Bryan firing his shotgun].

Zafina is a mysterious looking character. Her movements are fast, but fluid and hard to read. Her movements are similar to that of a spider and scorpion.

Leo is from German, and is quite a different from Zafina. This character has some very quick and powerful attacks. The base used for this character is hakkyoku-ken. Tekken beginners and veterans should be able to pickup the character with easy.
