It was quiet for the moment. I savor every moment of peace. It seems that such moments were rare in my life. I had a lot to think about.

This war was meaningless as it was and yet it seems that establishing peace was difficult at best. None of the higher ups want to listen to logic and just start killing who they thought was the enemy. It was as if they were glad that there was someone that threatened their lives and that this was the only way to preserve it.

A silent beep shook me out of my thoughts. The seismic sensors have detected something. I quickly checked the reading. Hunter left me with dealing with anyone coming to the facility so I left my position and headed towards the signals.

I finally saw what tripped the sensors. 2 soilders had managed to sneak into the grid net. I was wondering why they were here. I quickly check their ID. It came back to Alex Delacroix and WOLF, both from the company that I sabataged a while back. I held my position and used my suit's zoom to find why they were here. I saw the explosives that they carry and figured out that they were here to blow up the facility that Hunter was in.

I dashed towards them, using my sword to try and deter them from their objective. However, it seems that they learnt from the previous time and managed to roll just as the sword passed overhead. Just then a warning came from my suit.

"Warning. Stealth system disrupted in right arm. System deactivating.

I realised that the fight with the Andalias had damaged the emitters in my suit's right arm. I quickly retreated just as the suit became visible again. Knowing that fighting would reveal us to the world, I quickly reported the situation to Hunter.

Alex panted, raising himself from the position he had fallen.

"Anything?" Alex asked the figure next to him.

A brutal silence echoed between the two.

WOLF shook his head slowly and lowered his scope.

"Nothing? Nothing at all?" Alex inquired further
Wolf sighed in reply "A flash of something which could have been an arm, there's no way to tell"
"Dammit" Alex muttered.

Then, suddenly remembering that their mission was a covert one, they fell back on using hand-signals.

Alex glanced towards their path, a barren stretch of dead earth. Was that a twinge of sympathy he had just felt? Why now? What for? Shaking his head he dispelled the irrelevant thought, again focusing on his duties.

Holding up a fist, he halted WOLF.

Alex lowered his head to the ground, putting his ear next to the soil.

WOLF waited...

Alex's head jerked up suddenly.

"We're being hunted"

Were his only words as the pair set off at a near sprint towards their destination....

For the next few hours, we would discover a few more mentions linking Tony Rivera to the research being performed on Sol, but still nothing near enough to be convincing… at least for me. Anna had already prepared the assassination directives long before our current mission. It would seem our next move would take us back to Orsa to Roberia. Sad to say, despite reasons, the war had not reached that traditional city. If Rivera was discovered to have ties to this outbreak, there was no doubt he’d barricade himself within the city, hostages, and more than likely a costly operation.

“It’s him. I know we don’t have the proof we need, but it’s him!” Anna’s words screamed in my ear as she continued to search.

Before I could make a comment about jumping to conclusions, Spectre contacted me.

“Brace yourselves, sir; volatile units incoming. I tried to intervene, but those Andalia damaged my chameleon circuit. Orders?" He reported, following it by sending me designations for both our guests.

“Fagarrazi, we have company. Scan and survey postponed. Rendezvous back at the bridge and contact Aether.” I told the girl before returning back to Spectre, “Gather one of our Coverts. Have him keep tabs on those two as they peruse the exterior of Sol. If they become hostile, we’ll have to deal with them. Until then, stand down and monitor their activity.”

“Aether’s on com, sir. Shall I put him through?” Anna noted.

“Yes, put him through.” I ordered, “Aether, we’re expecting guests. Spectre’s cham is offline; see what you can do remotely. How goes the research?”

“Well, not the designated time, so I’ve got nothing so far. It’s a slow progress. I’ll contact Jason ASAP, though, and see what’s wrong. Is there anything else you need? You know I wouldn’t be much help out there and Sol’s got no materials I could fashion into weaponry in a short period.”

“No, I don’t need you in this fight. By the looks of it, they want to be discreet. I think Spectre’s unit can handle it, but they might just need a few helping ‘coincidences’. I’m sure I could arrange some of those. You just work on getting his cham back online.”

With that, I probed the readouts of our company’s armour and statistics to plot my next move.
