Aye, as did I. Sadly, if they'd made a Ys MMO, it'd fail, too. MMOs kill deep plots, developed characters, and impactful storytelling. =\

IGN dubbed this the most dissappointing game to be announced at E3, on the basis that they were really hyped up until they saw the words online at the end of the trailer.

As they should be! MMO is already bad enough in any other gaming. FF REVOLVES around a deep and intricate plot with in-depth character psychologies and histories. You take that to the MMO realm and it gets wiped clean. You get a WoW storyline with little tedious quests and other nonsense and then it's basically not even worth considering as an FF.

I agree, trying to make your own story is meaningless, noone seems to talk to low leveled players anyway.

And the cost for them >< It's a waste of money.

Now, if it was one where you could select to be a certain main character in the story and then play it together online, that might be fun. Rather than controlling all your chars, your party will be actual people. I mean, it'd be totally not MMO, but it'd be fun to go online and have real life party members to play through the story. Of course, it'd also be cumbersome to find those party members because without some roles filled in, it might be harder to progress the story etc, so that would suck, but it'd still be better than MMO XIV.

Perhaps with enough petitions, they will announce a Single Player mode or something :P.
