    FFXIV Cup

Online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV has several collector's editions. Included in the Japanese version is a Final Fantasy XIV drinking cup. Don't expect to drink much from it. You can't.

According to the box that the cup comes in:

Do not fill the product with the following materials as they may cause damage: Items including salt and solid materials, carbonated beverages, milk or other dairy beverages, fruit juices, etc.
So that means water is okay? Water, tea and...air. Mmm...air. Sounds like a versatile cup.

Other blogs have pointed out that the made-in-China cup was dirty (mould!) and even has scratches. This Final Fantasy XIV cup is part of a collector's edition bundle that is priced at ¥9,480 (US$112).

*bets KoFF would buy it even with mould*

It doesn't really appeal to me. I just keep thinking "Ewww" with the mould.

    Re: FFXIV Cup

You're referring to the Thumbler? You know, that IS pretty ironic as the box itself says something along the lines of "Bring a piece of FFXIV with you everywhere you go!" which kinda hints to that you can use it as a cup when you're going somewhere like on a picnic.
So it can't even be used for that? Saw someone who suggested it could be used for dice then, lol. Unless they are made of those "bad" chemicals too.

It's not the first time SE's products have been more for show though. It differs a lot, if you ask me. Guess this is one of the collectibles for show. And yes, Habs, I would buy it, but I actually don't feel I have the money for the box right now and it's been torturing me >_>... Hope they make a PS3 version of it, but I doubt they will include the same items if they make a CE for PS3.

But dirty and scratched? That doesn't sound like SE's standard at all... I'm not convinced by this. It's just one guy who wrote that quote, right? If it's several people who had the same experience, I'll be damned.

KoFF, it said in Ben's quote that people on numerous other blogs (i.e. more than one person) have reported mold and scratches, so yeah, it's a shit product.

Ah, did not see that. Hmm, yeah, still not convinced though. Sounds a bit fleeting to just say other blogs. Not saying it isn't true though, but I just still think it sounds like a big flaw from SE's side. If it's true though, I think it's fair to forgive them since it's not a reoccuring thing. At least I haven't heard of something like this before unless it was pre-owned.

I also misread something, on closer inspection. It said that it IS possible to have Water and tea and stuff in it. Thought he was expanding on the no-no's. Well that's fine with me, lol. Don't need all sorts of things in it... But if I had it, I doubt I would fill anything in it anyway. The fear if bringing it somewhere if it got a dent x_X... Or if repetitive use leads to rust or other signs of wear. Do not insert comment about it already being moldy here, let me dream ._.
