    Taming Lightning, Amodar and Omega

Anyone succeeded in recruiting any of the DLC bosses? I've beaten Lightning and Amodar 5 times now, 3 with 5*s and still not got their crystals. =[ Only beat Omega once. I'm just at the end of Episode 4, but I don't really want to start 5 without them. I'm sure Lightning is a better Ravager than my current one.

There's no secret in obtaining them. You'll just need plenty of luck.

It'll make it easier if you have the fragment skill "Monster Collector" activated. It provides a 20% boost to base drop rates for monster crystals.
You'll get it after collecting all fragments in Vile Peaks (200 AF) and in 10 AF.

I've not had any luck in winning the battles yet.
I beat Lightning down to the point where Amodar joins but then wasn't strong enough to drop them faster than they healed themselves

No luck here either. Beat Omega and Lightning around 4 times each, 5 starred it through + Monster Collector FS was On.

I recruited Lightning! Her raw stats are almost as good as my Level 99 Blue Chocobo. She's an Early Peaker Ravager with several unique elemental variants of Blitz.

Yeah but they all look ridiculous, lol. Except for the Halo, but I didn't like the implications of that so I removed it. You can't give her a nickname either, lol.

I beat Lightning and Amodar for the first time on Monday. Took a good 45 minutes as they could heal quicker than I could hurt them. I managed to get rid of Lightning and then spent forever using wound on Amodar as it was the only way I had of hurting him.

Meh, I dislike most adornments on most fiends. Although, my Golden Chocobo looks awesome with Mog on its back. It's Chocomog!

Also a Cactuar with an electric guitar lol. Inferior though.

My personal strategy, have used it to beat them even at very early stages but it depends on your role levels I suppose.

    Paradigms:
    Serah | Noel | Monster
    RAV/COM/RAV - Relentless Assault-X
    RAV/COM/SEN - Delta Attack-X
    SEN/SEN/SEN - Tortoise
    SAB/MED/SEN - Attrition
    SAB/SYN/SEN - Premeditation
    SEN/SEN/MED - Consolidation

    Paradigm Pack:
RAV - No preference. I used everything from Albino Lobo, to Buccaboo to Blue Chocobo
SEN - At the very least a Pulsework Knight. Optimally the Silver Chocobo (throw Mog into the green sphere in Academia 4XX once you have the advanced Moogle throw Fragment Skill)
MED - Flanitor - necessary. Fully charged Feral Link.

    Accessories:
Depends really. I can't remember the name, (will check) but whatever it is that boosts the speed of your Feral Link will be helpful with healing. You'll want to exploit the fact that Feral Links charge even for inactive monsters in your Paradigm Pack. Physical Resistance will help.

    Round 1: Lightning
I'm not sure if what you have to do here is simply Stagger her or knock off a certain amount of HP. Regardless, she usually goes down as the Chain Bonus is just about to leave her Staggered. Use Relentless Assault if you're confident in your abilities (she won't heal herself) otherwise bring in a SEN and use Delta Attack. Really shouldn't be an issue at all.

    Round 2: Lightning and Amodar:
Focus first of all on Amodar! He's the main heavy hitter, and it's him who dishes out the annoying debuffs. Take him out first. Note that he appears second on the list of targets (Lightning is the default), so you will need to make sure you're effecting him. Enter the battle with Premeditation as your default Paradigm. As Serah auto-hinder Amodar. It doesn't matter whether any particular debuffs stick or not, he's immune to most of them anyway - you just want to make sure you're raising the Chain Bonus. Stick with this Paradigm until Noel has cast Protect, Shell, Veil and Vigilance. At this point you may need to heal (depending on your level). If it's not desperate (i.e. the screen isn't flashing red) use Attrition. Noel will heal you while Serah continues to charge the Chain Bonus/inflict debuffs. If you are desperate switch to Consolidation and use Flanitor's Emergency Rescue Feral Link, which is usually enough to give you the HP boost you need. Keep this as a last resort though for when you're desperate, and always look at its picture to see whether the Feral Link is charged. About now L&A will probably switch to the Sap and Salve or Building Block Paradigms. These are mostly defensive. (MED/SYN and SEN/SYN iirc) Use this as an opportunity to unleash your attacks against them. Use Relentless Assault if you're confident, otherwise keep your Sentinel around and use Delta Attack. Make sure you use the X variants so that everyone is focused on a single opponent. Keep switching to Attrition/Consolidation as and when healing is required. If you're low-levelled you may need Noel's buffs from Premeditation again. Soon Amodar will be staggered. Switch to Relentless Assault. You won't need a Sentinel, usually Lightning does negligible damage as Amodar is staggered. If you somehow don't manage to defeat him (use Ultima Arrow at 999% or thereabouts remember), then repeat until you do.
Now Lightning will be alone. Continue as above, but look out for any time it says "Limit Charge" or something like that, "Limit" something nonetheless. Soon after this appears, she uses Army of One. Make sure you switch to Tortoise to bolster your defence against this. 90% of the time she somehow goes after your monster rather than Serah or Noel. Even your Pulsework Knight can usually withstand it. Otherwise, use Delta-Attack/Relentless Assault as necessary. Remember, if you used Ultima Arrow against Amodar (once per battle limit) you can changeover to Noel and use Meteor Javelin against Lightning - I actually got the Giant's Fist trophy (Dealt 99,999 damage with a single attack) in this battle doing just that.

If you're at a very low level, invest in some Wound Potions and spam Potion for healing.
