Episode 5 [Spoilers]

I was not prepared for this level of emotion. ;; Everything from The Void Beyond to New Bodhum 700 AF was excellent. I loved playing as Serah in her original clothes. I loved seeing the fantasy "happy" ending that couldn't possibly be. Not even Vanille could ruin the moment. And then there was Fang, I was reminded of just what an excellent character she is. Then seeing Noel's backstory was tragic. All topped off with a visit from Lightning and a beautiful FMV.

This episode has really endeared me to both Serah and Noel, and their friendship feels so strong. Best of all none of this felt overly melodramatic or cheesey in the way that FF games normally do. Probably because there are far fewer characters involved.

This was how I felt as well. That's why the ending had an actual impact on me!

It really was a great compilation of emotional surges that were packed into those scenes. It probably also has to do with the fact that they all had to be done in 1 go, rather than being interrupted by sidequests and optional locations.

And yes, that FMV... I really felt it that moment when Light stretched her hand towards Etro's Throne, cried and was transformed into her armor version. That said, the latter also reminded me of Lenneth's transformation scene in Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.

Everything that happened in this chapter really psyched one up for the final chapter.

But yeah from what I remember I loved this I actually had to go back and see the ending with Serah since I pressed no the first time. It was so heartwarming.
