It would be interesting but the game doesn't waste time (lol) in explaining why to the player right at the beginning.

Square did say before the game was released that there would be no time travelling in the past. They didn't want to mess with the story from the original game, that was what they said. It needed to stay canon...

Naturally the story also ends up sort of explaining why that isn't happening due to when in time the first Paradox came into being and so forth. The little we see between the fall of Cocoon and New Bodhum 3AF is cutscene stuff.

There's 3 years to play around with there I guess, but that would go against their purpose in the story since it's the story required them to be elsewhere... Or so the Artefacts dictated, lol.




That said, imagine if the Beginner's Primer changed according to the changes you made in the past. Lawl.
