Xehanort can time travel so actually it turns out that Riku is a younger version of Xehanort.

At the very last minute, a new "God" child is introduced to the game. The god child explains how he created the heartless to prevent people from creating artificial heartless because the heartless will eventually rebel against them, even though it's been proven that heartless can be reasoned with. Regardless, you don't have a choice. You end up destroying all the relays that lead to other worlds, and you die. Goofy donald and Kairi are stranded on a new planet, and have to repopulate it. All the other worlds are near destroyed, and have little chance of recovering properly.
