Dress Spheres
Oh, where have thou gone, oh mighty summons! oh masters of magic!
Well, they've decided, they've been working with Final Fantasy for too long. They've retired, and hired a replacement for them: The Dress Spheres!
Yes, summons are gone (technically not), and with them went they're fancy looks and amazing animation scenes. But fear not! The Dress System has been introduced in FFX-2. Basically, by collecting different dress spheres, Yuna, Rikku, and Paine have the ability to change job classes during battle. Along with those changes come different abilities, different weapons, and lots of fancy, dancy (no pun intended) outfits and animation scenes. Some may sound somewhat familliar to those who have played FFIII and FFV, like the Black Mage, White Mage, and Theif, but some are completely new, or have been re-vamped for a bold new look. The Gun Mage and Songstress (the classic Bard job) are two such examples.
In addition to the normal dress spheres which each character can wear, there are 3, character specific dresses, custom tailored for them and them alone. They are listed below.
Normal Dress Spheres: | Special Dress Spheres: |
Alchemist Berserker Black Mage Dark Knight Gun Mage Gunner - Yuna Default Lady Luck Mascot Samurai Songstress Thief - Rikku Default Trainer Warrior - Paine Default White Mage |
Floral Fallal - Yuna Special Full Throttle - Paine Special Machina Maw - Rikku Special |
