ooc: I gave Zang alot of time for his post around a week. The story continues and the plot thickens lol.


” I will use the remaining missiles to strike the enemy location, you guys to get Ares.” I shouted in the mic.

No sooner I finished, I launched a torrent of missiles at the location that Ares gave.
I immediately followed pursuit at the location Ares sent. The missiles had eliminated a large portion of Acerbus. I grabbed out my scythe and began to scan the area for any life signs.

”To think there were this many Acerbus here.” I thought as I began to notice the bodies of Acerbus lying about.

”Morito! Request Backup ASAP!”

With the call of Ghost I fled the scene. I began to wonder what was so urgent.

As I got near I began to notice flames and sparks of lighting. I immediately realized that my other two comrades had begun to utilize their CE, I grabbed hold of my scythe and charged into the battle.

As I entered the battle ground, in front of us stood an Acerbus holding a beam sword.
Its bloodshot eyes were filled with insanity, and the Acerbus was breathing heavily.

I quickly did a scan and noticed that the heart rate was three times above normal. Filled with insanity and a bloodlust, the Acerbus let out a scream and charged at us.

”Attack at the same time.”

Instantly Tiamut’s beam sword turned into a flame sword as he charged at the enemy. The enemy quickly blocked the attack from the sword, however using my speed I charged at the enemy cutting its right arm. The Acerbus fell back and began to yell, for slowly the arm was being frozen.

”Now Ghost!” I shouted.

Ghost immediately grabbed the sniper rifle and released a bullet. The impact of the bullet released a wave of electricity burning and destroying anything within range.

With that the Acerbus fell.

We all turned around and noticed Ares who was hidden behind Ghost.

”Next time charge your MES before going to battle.”

Sorry for putting you guys in danger there, but at least the mission was a success.
At those words we all looked at the sun and noticed the sunset in the horizon.
”Lets look for shelter while headquarters contacts us.”

We all agreed and began to look around for a good campsite, within a few minutes the sound of a nearby stream reached our ears.

”Lets camp around here.”

Everyone agreed and deactivated their MES. Within minutes a fire was set and water was available.
”I need food.” I said as I began to rub my stomach.

“Good job everyone here is some food Morito.” Came a voice.

We looked at noticed the man in the suit before us.

”How did your know about our whereabouts?”

“Don’t underestimate the organization,” the man said with a smile, “here is some food for today and tomorrow.”

”Tommorow?”

“You have been assigned another mission to exterminate the Type V Acerbus. They look like humans but inside they are beasts.”

The memory of today’s struggle with that beast with the beam sword immediately came into my mind.

“Ammunition and battery packs are located two kilometers south in an abandoned house. The target is located three kilometers south of that location.”

Silence filled our camp as the prospect of another battle loomed once again. The man left the camp allowing us to form a plan of action. However inside I wanted to show everyone that I was capable of handling the situation by myself

”I guess for this battle we are going to need the help of the CE.” Tiamut said grimly.
”I think the plan should be……..”

I ignored the discussion between Tiamut and Ghost and placed my head on a patch of grass and quickly fell asleep.

”04:00 hours.” I thought to myself as I grabbed my belongings. Everyone stood silent asleep and exhausted from battle.
”If I get a two hour head start I should be able to have contact with the Acerbus earlier.” I whispered to myself,[color=orange]”I will prove to them that I have skill.”[/color

I began to head towards the house to stock up on supplies. Inside there lay bags with our names inscribed on them. I transformed into my MES and began to load up on my missiles, I grabbed an extra power pack and placed attached it to the MES in the secondary power source. Once I completed I left heading towards the location.

The sun in the horizon came in view. On a remote planet such as this the sun rise was amazing. Something inside of me moved as the rays of light hit my sight. I let out a smile and continued.

Four hours since I left the camp I reached the location. I activated my MES and began to examine the location.

There was roughly 40 Class V Acerbus and my intuition was right they were similar to the one fought yesterday however these Acerbus carried no weapons.

Activating my CE I leaped into battle releasing a towards of ice shards at the enemy…..

"That idiot," I muttered, sprinting as fast as I can using the MES's thrusters. I woke up at 5:30 to see that Morito was missing. Figuring that he went to the warehouse to get his MES recharged, I decided to wait for the others to wake up before heading out.

After a quick breakfast, we headed down to the warehouse to resupply and find Morito. After arriving at our destination did we find that he was nowhere in sight and that his equipment bag was gone.

The faint signs of a battle were seen from where we were and all the pieces fell into place. After a quickly recharging my MES and replacing the ammo and energy packs on my rifle, I sprinted ahead of the others to help Morito.

After crossing a hill, I finally saw the signs of the battle. Numerous bodies laid on the ground, killed by either a missile or a scythe. Quickly approaching the battle, I unslung my rifle and used the zoom to see what was happening.

Morito's MES was in bad shape. Chunks were missing from all parts of his armour. He was swinging the scythe recklessly, trying to hit his opponents. His missile pack was depleted and he was under 10% energy left.

I quickly signaled reinforcements by killing one of the Acerbus in front of Morito.

"You better have a good explanation for this Morito but for now, cut left and down," I ordered, killing another one. He did as he was told, moving left.

Tiamut and Ares arrived on the scene, quickly jumping into the crowd to help our comrade.

"Tiamut, Ares. Stick to the plan," I ordered, moving to find another sniping point.

"Roger that"

"Yes sir,"

"Lock and load people,"

"This guy will be the death of us all......." I thought silently as I rushed to the aid of Morito.

I activated my CE, confident, this time, after resuppling grenades and energy packs, and bashed the ground with my giant stone hammer. The shock waves and earthquakes incapacitated many Acerbus affected, but those smart enough to jump at me were met with either a sniper bullet in midair or a humbling club bash to the ribs.

Most of the Acerbus were unarmed, but deadly. Others had grabbed beam swords from their weapon caches in a clearing just behind the battlefield.

Morito looked bad. Large pieces of his MES armor were scattered all around him as he endured contiuous attacks from the beast-humans. I drew my grenade launcher and fired a defensive round at his location. A great stone cylinder rose around him and kept off the relentless Acerbus.

"Morito, use your CE to fix your armor, then switch to secondary power."

"Ok. Thanks for the help, Ares"

Thanks doesn't help. I changed the mode of fire on my grenade launcer to scatter and fired jagged jock daggers and pellets at the Acerbus trying to break through Morito's shield. After a few minutes, Morito launched up from the barricade, at full energy. The CE had supplimented the missing armor chunks with thick ice. His scythe frosting in his hands, he renewed his assault on the Acerbus.

”More Power! Power!” I yelled as I lashed at the Acerbus.

I began to let out a laugh as drops of blood flickered on my face. The power of the CE has awakened consuming my entire mind within it. My lust for battle grew within the moments. The chunks of ice began to grow more consuming my entire body.

”Morito step down from the attack, rest up we will take it from here,” Ghost yelled in the mic.

”Shut up!” I yelled as I quickly scattered an Acerbus frozen.

Instantly, the Acerbus halted and stopped their attacks.

In surprise we all did the same staring at each other not unsure what to expect. An Acerbus slowly walked forward as if he were about to announce something shouted

“JANMA!”

With those words the ground began to shake, I along with the group quickly jumped back to clear ourselves of harm.

Instantly from the ground below a being appeared. Its large body and enormous arms presented an air of hostility. I quickly lunged towards the enemy, however its massive arms struck me launching me several feet back.

”Morito!”

The beast let out a yell signaling the other surviving Acerbus to leave, and then the strange occurred, the beast began to speak.

“Human, dare defy us. You shall die.”

”What the hell is going on?” Tiamut shouted in rage.

“Die by my fists.”

Instantly, the Acerbus smashed the ground where Tiamut stood, however Tiamut barely dodged the attack scarping his amour on the fist.

I slowly stood up, however my wounds were to deep and I had to concentrate on healing. However, inside of me the desire to fight kept growing. The burning intensity filled my self as I witnessed a greater challenge ahead of me. Not caring about the blood dripping from my arm I charged once more into battle…

Dodging the fists, I quickly shot at this Acerbus's head. The bullet just bounced off his head. I unslung my assault rifle and charged towards it. Using my superior speed and mobility, I dodged another swipe at me and jumped onto the arms. After a couple of thruster assisted jumps, I fired both my weapons at point blank range. Not a scratch was left by my assault.

Unable to maneuver in the air, I was backhanded into the ground. I tried to get up quickly but the shock and pain kept me floored. I barely rolled away from another fist that would have crushed me even in my MES. The others tried their weapons but they were just as effective as mines.

Looking at the situation, there was only one option left for me. I quickly pulled back from the battle and headed towards the hill.

"Ghost, where the hell are you going?"

"I'm gonna give the Overcharge ability a shot,"

My rifle can use either bullets or an energy pack for ammo. I typically use bullets as not to drain my MES power. The Overcharge ability is able to deliver a powerful beam into any reinforced target. It was designed to be used against reinforced bunkers. Combined with a CE, it would devastate any object put in front of it. The downside was that it took a long time to charge up and also drained my CE. Also with the fact that it would almost destroy the rifle, I tend not to use it. But this could be the only chance to kill this thing.

Arriving at the top of the hill, I quickly unhooked my secondary power supply and attached it to a port on my rifle. Then I connected it to my suit via a retractable cable on my hip and knelt to steady my aim. I selected the Overcharge on my HUD heard the rifle hum. A countdown started on my HUD.

"Guys, I'm starting the charging process. I'll need 120 seconds to fully charge this. Keep him busy till then,"

"Roger,"

"Try to do so,"

"Ok,"

'I pray that I make it in time' I silently prayed as the rifle continued to charge.

Survive two minutes while Ghost revved up his overcharge. Should be easy enough.

I began beating the giant Acerbus monster with my CE enhanced hammer. I felt like a fly in it's ear. Morito repeatedly launched battle raged attacks against the beast with his icy scythe, and Tiamut tirelessly slashed at it with his flaming beam sword.

No good. The monster just swung at us like we were gnats. And it had only been 20 seconds, according to the timer Ghost was so kind to display on the team chat channel of our HUD.

"Tiamut, try to make an opening in it's flesh with your sword! Stab it!"

"Roger that."

He lunged forward and thrust his sword into the abdominal of the monster. It roared in pain as the enflamed blade pierced it's rock hard skin.

"Humans! You're efforts are fruitless! You cannot defeat me!"

Blood poured from the gash Tiamut had left, but in seconds it had healed the wound and looked like it had never been there.

30 seconds left.

"Tiamut, try that again, but higher up! Ghost, aim the Overcharge blast at the sword gash! Time it right, and we should be rid of this beast!"

"Understood, Ares"

"I gotcha. Watching you, Tiamut"

Morito launched missle after missle and slash after slash. He was waging his own battle, paying us the least attention. I began to worry the CE was too much for him.

The Acerbus roared again. I looked up and saw Tiamut suspended in the air, holding on to his sword with both hands with his feet planted on the Acerbus's chest.

"Jump now Tiamut!"

A huge streak of lightling blazed across the scene, smashing directly where Tiamut had been. The electric charge of such a blast was felt all over, knocking me back. The bolt blasted through the Acerbus's breast and ripped off it's upper torso. The charred remains of the Acerbus's head lay on the now calm battlefield. It's body soon fell down beside it.

"It's over"
"Atleast for now."
"Yeah...............Where's Tiamut? He played an important part in this."
"Didn't he drop down with you?"
"No, we was still airborne when the Overcharge hit."

It began to rain.

After some silence, "You dont' think..........?

"I'm sure he just landed back in the woods somewhere. You know, aftershock of the blast."
"Yeah, I'm sure you're right. Let's go find him and Morito.

The two of us headed off into the woods, calling for Tiamut and Morito. I switched to heat sensors to help locate our lost comrades. I picked up an odd trace near the site of the battle. It was negative heat. Ice.

I ran over to see Morito, MES disengaged but still experiencing some effects of the CE, knelt on the ground holding something. I called Ghost over and took my human form.

"Morito?"

He held in his hand the cracked and charred mask of Tiamut.

"This was all I could find........" He said as the brittle mask dropped from his hands.

A sharp pain soon hit me, causing me to frantically drop the helmet on the ground. Blood began to appear on my chest where my armor was shattered. I instantly kneeled on the ground the pain became unbearable.

Ares and Ghost quickly took a step back not sure what to expect from my movements.
”Morito!”
”Help me!” I shouted as a shroud of ice began to form on my chest and slowly began to grow larger.

”The CE its consuming his body.”

I raised my hand out in desperate hope towards my comrades and pleaded once more for assistance.

Ghost stared at my desperate plea for help, and slowly turned around and walked away.

”Its to late the CE is consuming your body, there isn’t much time to save you.”

”Ghost!”
”I hate to say it but who knows what would happen, Morito might go berserk once again and attack us.”

My body lost all strength and I fell on the ground aching in pain. A tear fell from my eyes as I realized my hope for survival was little to nothing.

”Go you guys, and I am sorry for everything.”

Ghost began to walk away without looking back. Ares took one last glimpse and soon followed Ghost back to headquarters.

As I lay on the ground alone, memories of my past began to appear. My father and mother, how as a son I left them when they needed my support. I was selfish and arrogant. The ice began to spread and soon reached my shoulder. The pain was unbearable. I closed my eyes to help ease the pain.

Soon without realizing I fell unconscious. It was then sounds of footsteps reached my dreams.

I walked away from Morito. A small stab of pain went though my heart as I walked away, remembering a similar incident when I was younger. Ares finally caught up.

"Ghost, you're just gonna leave him like that?" he asked in an angry tone.

"What else could we do? You know as well as I that we can't do anything when someone's CE goes wild," I replied calmly, not looking at Ares. He opened his mouth to respond but I cut him off.

"Besides, did you really think that we'd be here without a backup plan?" I said.

"What do you....." I simply held up my hand which was holding an emergancy transmitter beacon.

"I always prepare for the worst," I stated. Just then in the distance, a convoy of helicopters appeared. Ares said nothing as we watch them appoach and settle down in front of us.

"Got a wild ice CE. Approach with caution," I said to the medics. I simply motioned Ares to follow me to another heli.

"Where to sir?" the pilot asked, starting the takeoff procedures.

"Back to base," I replied, strapping myself into one of the seats.

I really didn't think it was such a good idea to leave Morito like that. People die when CE takes over them. But then again, what could we do? What could anyone do? The medics were risking their lives even approaching Morito, they can't save him.

"I guess we're down two partners now." I said gloomily to Ghost.

He looked down at the floor of the helicopter and replied "Things happen. It couldn't be prevented."

"True............"

As we flew away towards the base, I thought I heard more screams coming from the forest from which we came.

Back at base, Ghost and I reported the result of our mission. Half our team was missing, but two critical assets to the Acerbus were destroyed. We received our pay and were each granted some time off, or atleast from any major operations. I could be called on to do some menial chore like police work, but for the most part I could sleep late and do take some well-deserved R & R.

DREAM
FLASH BACK

”Mother! I decided to join the AAF.”
“Heita, why do you keep quitting jobs at times when your father cannot work.”
”I cannot stand working at the shop! I hate everything!
“Heita! Listen to me your father is ill you must stay at home and work at the shop.”
”I am sick of this. All my life you made me do things I didn’t enjoy doing look at me now? Do you think I enjoy having a degree in Mobile Physics? I cannot stand this everyday the same old story.”

“Whats the noise?”

I stared at my father, clutching his hands on his wheelchair.

“Your son has decided to join the AAF.”
My father stood silent hearing the news and soon stared directly in my eyes and said, “Son we took care of you when you couldn’t, I will only ask you once please stay here with us.”

There was a moment of silence as all eyes were directed on me.

”Good-bye Father, Mother.”

With that I opened the door heading out leaving my mother in tears for the stars that lay ahead of me.

END FLASH BACK

DREAM (continuation)
My eyes opened and there I stood in the middle of white room that stretched miles.

I looked around and shouted for help but no one was to be found. Immediately, I noticed myself behind me cowering in fear, hands held on my head and tears falling.

I looked around and noticed another me this time wielding the scythe and performing cuts as if dancing on ice.

Slowly my attention got diverted to another me this time in my mother’s arm. The me was far away I tried to walk towards it but instantly my path was interrupted by another shadow of myself.

This time the figure of myself was shouting continuously. I placed my hands on my ears to cover myself. I decided to walk away and try to visit my mother later.

As I looked around at the four figures of myself, I soon noticed a fifth. However this image of myself was covered in ice absorbed in the CE.

The image began to approach me by calling my name, ”Heita”
I stepped back immediately trying to escape shouting back, however the words couldn’t escape my mouth.

”Heita, we are one and forever will be. ”

Instantly a flash of light appeared blinding my vision. I made an effort to shield my eyes however the light began to emit through my skin.


”Wake! Heita.”

END DREAM

”Pass me the vaccine.”

I felt a sharp pain appear on my chest as I slowly opened my eyes. The sounds made me realize that I was experiencing a dream of some sort. Tears began to roll down my cheek as I began to realize the terrible thing I have done with my parents.

”Awake are you?” Came a voice, ”Rest up! We will talk later. Your alive that’s all that matters.”

I let out a nod as I quickly fell back into a deep sleep.
